Hi, I’m George, one of the team behind MowLab. Like many of you, I’ve been an automation enthusiast for years, always looking for ways to make my life more efficient and hassle-free. My journey toward MowLab started with a simple frustration—cabbage tree leaves, flax, and long grass getting caught in my mower, causing daily headaches.

I first faced this issue with my Husqvarna Automower, and when I changed to the Mammotion Luba 1 I unfortunately found myself dealing with the exact same problem. If you’ve ever had leaves wrap around the motor shaft or seen enough friction melt the disc off the hub, you know exactly what I’m talking about (ask me how I know… 😅).

With an engineering background and a habit of fixing things that annoy me, I started experimenting with different designs to see if I could improve the situation. After a lot of testing and iteration, I came up with a disc design—now called Bladerunner—that drastically reduced tangles and grass buildup.

Since making the switch, I haven’t had a single caught cabbage tree leaf—compared to what used to be a daily struggle. I call that a win.
